On 14th March 2025, Dr. Tetiana Bersheda spoke at The Art Business Conference held during TEFAF in Maastricht.
Tetiana took part in the expert panel discussion on “Patrimony: Collecting in Europe”, Tetiana joined fellow lawyers from the UK and France to explore the legal and tax considerations for art collectors in their respective countries and to discuss how each nation encourages heritage property to remain within its borders.
Drawing on his Swiss expertise, Tetiana addressed succession planning, the use of trusts, and the special tax regimes available for pre-eminent items — offering valuable guidance for collectors, galleries, and institutions navigating the increasingly complex landscape of art ownership, heritage preservation and legacy planning.
Succession planning continues to grow in importance. As collections become more valuable and intricate, ensuring their smooth and tax-efficient transition across generations has never been more vital.
A huge thank you to The Art Business Conference and TEFAF Maastricht for hosting this exceptional event.
